Question: Will I be in pain following a vasectomy ?
Answer:

Initially as the local anesthetic is administered it may be slightly uncomfortable. There may also be some discomfort at certain points in the operation if you have the procedure done under a local anaesthetic.

Once you are at home you will probably need to take some analgesics such as aspirin or paracetamol for a few of days to control pain.

If you do experience excessive pain or pain does not ease after a day or so seek advice from your surgeon or go to the emergency department.

Major complications are rare but you should always seek advice if you are at all worried following a vasectomy.
