Weakness
Feelings of weakness are common following infections. Weakness or probably more obvious when
some area of the body is affected, for example, following a stroke. There are a number of
conditions associated with weakness:
Muscle Weakness
Inactivity is often associated with muscular weakness and this becomes something of a
vicious circle if the cause of inactivity is chronic pain. Myopathy is a muscular condition
in which muscle tissue is affected throughout the body. Myopathy can be caused by diabetes,
from infections and from toxic and hereditary causes. Most myopathies start in the muscles
around the trunk, chest and around the thigh.
