Definition:
Surgical procedure in which the vas deferens (sperm
tubes) are severed, clipped or cauterized. This results in a (usually) permanent
means of sterility by preventing the passage of sperm into the seminal fluid.
The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes and is performed under local
anesthetic.
