Definition:
A
rare genetic disorder that affects only men
and is one of several closely related inheritable disorders. The disorder is
characterised by problems in the breakdown of long chain fatty acids that affects the adrenal glands, nervous system, and
testes. Recent research suggests it may be
influenced by Lorenzo's oil. Research with children reveals that those not
treated with the oil were almost three times more likely to develop symptoms.
