Question: Why is second-hand smoke dangerous?
Answer: Second hand smoke causes serious health problems. Children whose parents smoke are more likely to get ear infections, bronchitis and lung infections. They are more likely to die in house fires and are 4 times more likely to be a victim of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.The non smoking spouse of a smoker has a 20% increase risk of getting cancer and a 30% higher risk of developing heart disease. Children of smokers are more likely to smoke themselves.
