Ask people what they value most in life and their health is bound to rank highly. Paradoxically, some of the most difficult issues that men have to deal with still revolve around the most important aspects of their health.

In a survey undertaken by Taylor Nelson Sofres the top three issues that men find most difficulty talking about were reported as:

(1) sexual problems
(2) bladder problems
(3) smelly feet

Before most men will tackle 'bellow-the-belt' issues they seem to require a prolonged state of discomfort (a month or more) before it becomes clear the problem is not going away by itself. Most men cite embarrassment or fear of a serious diagnosis as their main reason for not seeking help.

Men also manage to remain blissfully unaware of how their bodies work and how to recognize the signs when things are going wrong with it. A good case in point is the prostate gland. Most men know that they have one but few actually know its function or in some cases where it is located and what can go wrong with it.
