Health Crisis of America's Men Conference

Men are more reluctant than women to face up to worrisome symptoms or go to the doctor for check-ups, notes Tim Johnson, the medical editor for ABC News and keynote speaker for the upcoming National Conference on Men's Health, organized by Penn State.

Doctors, nurses and community health advocates will attend the conference, which will explore the latest medical advances and procedures, psychosocial behavioral factors, gender specific community health initiatives and policy issues related to men.

Sponsors include Penn State Outreach and the Colleges of Health and Human Development and Medicine at Penn State in partnership with the Men's Health Network, the International Society for Men's Health and the World Congress on Men's Health. The Men's Health Network organizes the annual Men's Health Week, an event designed to heighten awareness of preventative health problems, scheduled for mid-June this year.
