Experts Agree - Now's The Time for the Flu Shot

Loyola University researcher Dr. Michael Koller advises us all that now is the time to get your flu shot. Once you've had the flu it's not something you will soon forget. So why night prevent the flu before it happens to you. For years doctors only vaccinated during the months of October and November. But now, since the peak flu season in the US has historically been in February, doctors now vaccinated well into February. Because it takes about 2 weeks to be fully immunized, early vaccination assures that antibodies will develop before the peak flu season. New this year the CDC now recommends that children from 6 months to 18 years of age should be vaccinated. Prior to 2008, the recommendation was for kids 6 months and younger and 5 years and older.
