Christopher Reeve Foundation Annual Fundraiser Highlights Spinal Cord Injury

From Jerry Kennard, About.com GuideNovember 10, 2006

Will Reeve, the 14 year old son of the late Christopher and Dana Reeve, spoke at A Magical Evening, the annual fundraiser for the Christopher Reeve Foundation in New York City. Will, joined by his sister Alexandra, 22, and brother Matthew, 26, talked about their tough years since the death of their parents. It was the first time the event had been held without either Christopher or Dana. Christopher Reeve, probably best known for his role as Superman, died in 2004. Tragically, Dana died of lung cancer in March. The event, this Monday, raised over $2.5 million and highlighted spinal cord injury- the need for better treatments and more research to find a cure for this life changing condition.
