Osteoporosis in Men

Osteoporosis is a condition where bone becomes increasingly porous, the skeleton becomes brittle and prone to break. Osteoporosis is often thought of as a disease affecting only women but this is not the case. Men get osteoporosis too although it tends to progress slower and develop later.

In 2004 the Surgeon General’s Report on Bone Health and Osteoporosis said that by 2020 half of all Americans over 50 years old would have weak bones unless changes are made to diet and lifestyle. Find out more about the causes, risk factors for Osteoporosis in Men
